Real Gold & Silver Jewellery
Jewellery Quality & Care
Will the jewellery change colour or tarnish?
Our jewellery is made from high-quality pure metals like sterling silver and gold, which means it won't discolour your skin like plated jewellery might. Because we don't use plated materials, there's no risk of the outer layer wearing off and causing changes in colour.
While sterling silver may develop a slight patina or tarnish over time due to natural oxidation, this is completely normal and can easily be polished back to its original shine. Regular care will keep your jewellery looking as beautiful as the day you bought it!
Why is buying real gold or silver more sustainable?
- Durability: Gold and sterling silver are strong, resilient metals. When properly cared for, they resist wear and tear much better than cheaper alternatives like gold-plated or base metal jewellery.
- Less Waste: Gold and silver can be repaired, polished, or refinished, meaning they can stay in your collection longer, generating less waste over time.
- Recyclable: Gold and silver are among the few materials that can be endlessly recycled without losing quality. Old or damaged jewellery made from these metals can be melted down and used to create new pieces, making them highly sustainable compared to materials that degrade or are mixed with non-recyclable components.
- Timeless Investment: Gold and silver have been valued for centuries for their beauty and intrinsic worth. They don’t fall out of fashion in the same way that fast-fashion jewellery does, meaning your investment in high-quality pieces lasts much longer.
How can I best care for my jewellery?
Proper care will keep your gold and silver jewellery looking as brilliant as the day you bought it. Follow these tips to ensure your pieces last a lifetime:
- Avoid Contact with Chemicals: Remove your jewellery when using household cleaning products, lotions, perfumes, or when swimming to prevent damage.
- Clean Regularly: Gently clean your jewellery with a soft polishing cloth to remove dirt, oils, and tarnish, or use a mild soap and water solution for more thorough cleaning.
- Wear with Care: Avoid wearing your jewellery during physical activities such as sports or heavy lifting to prevent scratching or bending.
- Polish and Maintain: For silver, use a silver-specific polish to maintain its shine. For gold, occasional professional cleanings will ensure long-lasting brilliance.
